The approximately 350-year-old merchant's house that houses Gallery Europ'Art has a molded facade from the nineteenth century. The facade has been altered, as have the windows on the second floor. In the twentieth century, several craftsmen had workshops here, including a carpenter, gilder, sailmaker and plasterer. From 1973 to 1993 the well-known restorer and wood joiner Bert Stoop (Zwijndrecht, 1931) had his workshop there. In 1976, the then Queen Beatrix, Prince Claus and the young princes visited the studio. Stoop was then working on carvings for the sailing ship of the Royal Family: 'The Green Draeck'. In addition to regular opening hours, the shop is also open by appointment. The store also has shopping Sundays every first Sunday of the month.
On the waterfront, the painting 'De Grachtwacht' with Johan and Cornelis de Witt, Ary Scheffer, Aelbert Cuyp and Ferdinand Bol is attached to the building.
