The property was built in 1735 as a mansion on the site of three to four older houses. The house was richly decorated both inside and out, which can still be seen in the Louis XV-style period room. The period room is part of the current store space and is partially hidden from view by book racks. The period room served as a coffee room and had a connection to the kitchen behind for serving drinks. This passage door is still present. In 1981, Pandora moved into the building: an unusual store full of curiosities, antiques and used books. The facade of the building has since been restored and painted in the historic "Dordrecht colors.
