The plot on which this building is built was purchased in 1611 by the treasurer of the city of Dordrecht, Leonard Sijbertsz van den Hatert. He had a house built on it between 1611 and 1617 by mason Hendrick Jansz Carnaeckel. In 1877, the top facade was renewed and fitted with a small boutique.
