Product description
More than thirty years after the opening of the first railway line from Amsterdam to Haarlem, Dordrecht was connected to the railway network. On 31 October 1872, the Rotterdam-Dordrecht-Breda line was put into operation.
The city will get a station that matches its position as a junction in the railway network, a so-called Waterstaatsstation first class. There are only two of this type - the other station is in Zwolle.
On the initiative of Dordt notables, the city was also connected in 1885 to the Merwe- en Waal railway line, later known as the 'Betuwe line'.
