Product description

Throughout the centuries, the House of Orange-Nassau has been closely associated with the history of the Netherlands. So too with the history of the city of Dordrecht. Was it not in Dordrecht that, in 1572, the States of Holland decided to resist Spanish rule and proclaimed Prince William of Orange stadholder of Holland? From that time onwards, stadholders, princes, kings and queens of the house of Orange-Nassau have shown an interest in Dordrecht, right up to the present day. Apart from King Willem I, they all visited Dordrecht. This booklet describes these visits and the celebrations of the House of Orange-Nassau.
