Product description
The sixth volume in the series Verhalen van Dordrecht 'Het Zakkendragersgilde' tells the story of the Zakkendragers Guild. In the 15th century, Dordrecht had no fewer than thirty guilds in which thirty-four different professions were represented. Of these guilds, the Zakkendragersgilde existed the longest. Bag carriers carried sacks of peat and corn. With small boats they unloaded the sea ships that had anchored on the Meuse. Authors Kitty Römer-Hurkmans and Jan Koonings tell extensively about the Zakkendragersgilde and their activities.
