However, that 100,000 people drowned in this flood, as stated in some writings, is almost certainly an exaggeration. But thanks to historical and archaeological research, a reasonably reliable reconstruction can be made. This booklet gives an idea of the current views on this flood, which had great consequences 600 years ago.
