Product description

The author Frits Baarda tells the story of the Victoria biscuit factory in the eighth part of the series 'Stories from Dordrecht'. For years, the Victoria biscuit factory on the Hoge Bakstraat helped to determine the face of Dordrecht.

Victoria was opened in 1904 as a branch of the Brussels factory of the same name, which dated back to 1894. Victoria was particularly popular with young girls. They preferred wrapping biscuits to working as servants. At its peak in the 1950s, there were 1600 employees.
