The 43rd volume in the series Verhalen van Dordrecht "Slavernijverleden Dordrecht" deals with the role of Dordrecht in colonialism and slavery. Dordrechters were involved in many ways: as plantation owners, with sugar refineries to people with shares in ships and plantations. Traces of this past can be found in many places in the city and therefore a walk has been developed along a number of buildings that played a role in this past. The booklet includes a walking map with a description of the properties in question. In this booklet, authors Sidney Breidel and Rowan van der Stelt tell all about Dordrecht's slavery past.
