Live Link Dance VR lets you experience dance in two worlds at once. Not a classical performance, but an open laboratory in which dance, drones and virtual reality come together: from poetic duet to drone spectacle, from documentary to VR installation.

A live presentation on dance, technology and shared reality

Live Link Dance VR is not a classic performance, but an open laboratory. In this special presentation, Another Kind of Blue shows how dance, drones and virtual reality come together in one shared, live experience.

Central to the show is a special first: a technology developed by Another Kind of Blue that enables a direct, live link between the stage and a virtual environment. While the dance takes place on stage, a number of spectators experience it simultaneously through VR glasses, as if they were ín the performance, flying on a drone.

This presentation marks an important step toward a future where dance can be experienced worldwide, live, in VR. Live Link Dance VR offers a unique insight into that development, in which art and technology reinforce each other.

What you experience:
- Flyland: A poetic duet with projections on floor and backdrop, as an atmospheric opener.
- Documentary: A look behind the scenes, about the creation process and the new VR technology.
- Arms: A choreography with two dancers and 18 drones, controlled via a motion capture system with 22 cameras. 14 visitors follow this performance live through a VR headset.
- Replay moment: The audience sees back what the VR audience saw live, while the VR audience receives a recording of the stage image.
- VR installation: Afterwards, visitors can experience the pre-recorded VR versions of Flyland and Arms for themselves.

Live Link Dance VR is an important step in the development of a future where dance can be experienced live globally and simultaneously, physically and digitally.

There will be 15 live VR spots available during the performance. These VR headsets will be randomly assigned to visitors on the night. For those who cannot use a VR headset during the performance, you can experience the pre-recorded VR versions of Flyland and Arms in the studio afterwards. Unfortunately, this studio is not accessible to those with mobility issues.
