After six years of radio silence, the time has come: Blowbeat is back and will be at Music Stage DJS on June 7, 2025! Prepare for an evening full of energy, momentum, surprise, craziness and groove.
Blowbeat, formed in the early 1980s, has established an impressive live reputation, especially in Germany. The OOR Encyclopedia praised the band for their "high playing skill coupled with rock-solid song material" - and there is little to argue with that. After 2000, Blowbeat performed less frequently as the band members pursued successful careers as session musicians. Leendert Haaksma, Arthur Lijten and Eric Coenen are well-known names in the music world, with collaborations with artists such as Anouk, Anastacia, Manfred Mann and Ellen ten Damme. This made it difficult to keep Blowbeat continuously active.
But ... the blood runs where it can't go. Every year the band members review whether there is room for a new tour. In 2020, Blowbeat played their last shows, but this summer they are going to bang again! A series of performances is planned from April through June 2025. The core remains the same: real players, real guitars, a bass and a drum kit. No fuss, but pure, raw music full of power and creativity.
The lineup: Ton Engels - lead vocal and guitar, Leendert Haaksma - guitar, Eric Coenen - bass and vocals, Arthur Lijten - drums and vocals. This concert is part of the TOP Concert series, and has adjusted ticket prices for donors.
