Bobby is a Rebel -
On Friday, May 23, Bobby Kinghe Foundation and Music Cafe Rebel Rebel join forces for a new adventure: Bobby is a Rebel. A mini-festival full of quirky music from near and far, with a varied program that focuses on discovery and surprise. Entrance is free, but donating for the music is appreciated: pay what you like.
The acts of the evening:
- Silen Roc: Kicking off is Case Brandt from Dordrecht with his project Silen Roc. Multi-instrumentalist Case "On Fire" Brandt is active under many names, as a songwriter, theater composer and solo artist. Under the name Silen Roc, he shows his most intimate side: small, fragile songs close to the heart. A rare opportunity to experience these hidden gems live.
- Xav Clarke; Next, British multi-instrumentalist Xav Clarke takes the stage. Fresh off the release of his new album Fossil Forest (produced by Mercury Prize winner Mike Lindsay), Xav takes you on a colorful journey full of psychedelic indie pop, 70s-inspired melodies and playful soundscapes. Known for his work as a composer for animation and film, Xav brings a sparkling live show where philosophical lyrics and dreamy sounds come together. Immerse yourself in his free, imaginative universe.
- Rheintraum: Finally, Rheintraum thunders over you, a trio from Groningen, Amsterdam and Dordrecht that immerses itself in the hypnotic motorik beat of krautrock. Originating from a stray adventure in Berlin, Phil Martin and Tim den Heijer along with a third musician bring a pulsating mix of synths, guitars, sequencers and drums. Experimental, unpredictable and always compelling - an ode to the German underground of the 1970s.
About Bobby Kinghe: Since 1971, the Bobby Kinghe Foundation has been the quirky cousin of the Dutch music world: challenging, confusing, innovative. Always with a nose for what lives under the radar, and not afraid to push the boundaries - even when things go wrong once in a while.
Admission: free, donation preferred (pay what you like). Come explore, get lost and enjoy. Bobby is a Rebel - are you?
