On Saturday, June 14, Music Stage DJS is all about rousing rhythms, danceable grooves and positive energy. None other than Boka de Banjul, the energetic band around the Gambian griot Ebou Gaye Mada, will come to move the venue with a unique blend of Mbalax, Afrobeat, jazz, rock and reggae. Afterwards, DJs will take over and keep the dance floor warm until the late hours.
Boka de Banjul was founded in 2002 by Ebou Gaye Mada, who then started a series of spontaneous jam sessions from The Gambia. These musical encounters grew into a collective of international musicians from different backgrounds, united by their love of music and positive energy. The band is now based in Rotterdam, where they bring together their diverse influences into a powerful and danceable sound that transcends cultures and connects people.
After the concert, carefully selected DJs will provide an eclectic afterparty with global grooves, Afro-funk, tropical beats and more.
Come dance, connect and celebrate. Get carried away by the worldly sounds of Boka de Banjul!
