Cappella Breda sings 'Aus Tiefer Not' in honor of its founders' 85th anniversary, including the musically contemporary and challenging 'Madrigals for the City of Breda'. At the heart of this piece is the beloved chorale 'Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir'. Each part of this work by Daan Manneke tells a piece from the history of the city of Breda. Bernou de Heer accompanies the choir with accordion. Poet Yvonne Né recites the text of the Madrigals at the concert.
Daan Manneke's work will be framed by the "Verleih uns Frieden" by H. Schütz, the motet "Warum ist das Licht gegeben" by J. Brahms and two beautiful arrangements of the famous chorale "Aus tiefer Not," by J.S. Bach and by L. Hellinck.
