Welcome to Agnes's World
For this exhibition at byBranderhorst, Agnes takes you into her colorful universe, where wonder, spectacle, and tranquility come together. Agnes is an artist based in Dordrecht who creates paintings that invite you to lose yourself in daydreams. She has always been passionate about color and spectacle. As a young teenager, one wall of her room was bright pink and the other was bright orange. She had bedding covered in flowers and a large, old golden mirror. She wore pink rain boots to school—the crazier, the better.
The urge for creativity, color, joy, and exuberance has remained, but now that she’s getting a little older and is the mother of three small children, the tranquility of nature has also become a necessity. Excitement and tranquility—both must be present in life—and the Circus exhibition brings it all together. For this, she created large works as well as many small ones. And of course, most are set in beautiful old frames, something Agnes is known for. She has gathered the very finest ones especially for this exhibition.
