What happens happens if the loudest voice you hear in your own head is? 'Loud Whispers' is a probing dance performance about the inner monologue that us makes or breakswho us forward drives, but which us also makes doubt. Sometimes it is a whisper, sometimes a overwhelming voice, fed by fear, expectations, desires and the tension between who we are and who we think to must be.
Choreographer Denden Karadeniz and Zero Dance Theatre translate this battle in a powerful mix of hip-hop and contemporary dance. Just as the choreography is the live music a fusion of worlds: the Dareyn Ensemble, under conducted by Emine Bostanci, interweaves oriental and western sounds to a layered soundscape that the complexity of our inner voices reflects. 'Loud Whispers' offers no answer, but is an invitation to quiet to at at the voices that our form.
