Together with KunstKerk 's neighbors across the street, we present a special film evening, suggested by artist and designer Job Smeets.

His work is currently on display there in the exhibition Dust to Dust and his Studio Job created the unusual facade with the stained-glass association "The Embrace." Asked for an important source of inspiration in his life/work, Job chose the film that in 1987 definitively gave German filmmaker Wim Wenders his international master status. A film that moves between heaven and earth, between angels and humans. This is what also characterizes Job's work: balancing between heaven and earth, between impermanence and eternity and between the mythical and the everyday world.

Damiel(Bruno Ganz) is an angel who, together with Cassiel(Otto Sander), floats above Berlin to help its lonely and sad inhabitants. After centuries of living as an angel, he actually wants to live as a normal flesh-and-blood human being for once, to experience all that he lacks and also to taste the pleasures of man for once. Then he meets a circus acrobat, and now he knows for sure that he would rather be among the living.
With stunning images of Berlin, before the fall of The Wall, Wenders tells a beautiful, philosophical story full of melancholy and alienation. Peter Handke co-wrote the script. Wenders received the directing award at Cannes.
