On the wild island of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been the greatest enemies for generations, Hiccup(Mason Thames) is an outcast. The resourceful, unremarkable son of chieftain Stoick the Vast breaks an age-old tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Hell dragon. Their unlikely bond turns entire Viking community upside down. With the tough and ambitious Astrid and the village's quirky blacksmith Gobber by his side, Hiccup confronts the community that judges based on fear and misunderstanding. When an ancient threat rears its head, putting both Vikings and dragons at risk, Hiccup's friendship with Toothless proves to be the key to a new future. Together they must try to bring back peace.
