Bridget Jones(Renée Zellweger) shares with us her life as a widow and single mother. Four years ago, her husband Mark Darcy(Colin Firth) crashed while on a humanitarian mission in Sudan. With him, she had two children, 9-year-old Billy and 4-year-old Mabel. Now that time has allowed the worst of the grief to wear off somewhat, space is opening up again for herself. With help from her loyal friends and sometimes even her ex Daniel Cleaver(Hugh Grant), she manages her family. And she reboots her attempts at dating, but oh oh how the "relationship market "has changed. And then there's Billy's handsome teacher Scott Wallaker(Chiwetel Ejiofor). An emotional roller coaster can't fail.
Unlike standard RomComs, romantic happiness is not magnified, but nicely balanced with the difficult turns life takes. In her disarming, awkward way and with a good dose of humor, Bridget faces them.
