When young and ambitious ballerina Joy Womack(Talia Ryder) is accepted into the academy of the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, it makes her the first American student at this renowned dance school. It is Joy's dream to become prima ballerina at the Bolshoi. But behind the beauty of dance lies a world of pain and harsh competition. In the training sessions, Joy is forced to push her physical and mental limits. With the help of her teacher Tatiyana Volkova(Diana Krüger), she hopes to achieve her dream, despite all the trials.
