We will serve a delicious amuse + 3 course menu, with dishes that you will see afterwards in the film. On Thursday, MAART 13, that's Le Pot au Feu with a menu of [luxury American street food].
..by director Trần Anh Hùng is set in late 19th-century France. Dodin Bouffant(Benoit Magimel) is a gentleman from a wealthy family, who spends his time and money on fine dining. He has been called the Napoleon of gastronomy because of his drive to constantly invent and describe new dishes. To prepare those dishes, he has relied on his cook Eugenie(Juliette Binoche) for 20 years. Is there any chance that the two partners will merge in a love affair? How bothersome is Eugenie's ailing health? And could the niece Pauline continue the culinary development?
These questions offer fine story lines in the film. But more central is the great pleasure of preparing and ... eating wonderful dishes. Both forms of enjoyment are captured very nicely by the camera.
