Steve (Jack Black) discovers a magical cube in an old mine shaft. It turns out to be a mysterious portal to the Overworld: a bizarre cubic wonderland where everything revolves around imagination. As an intruder, he is imprisoned by the Piglins. Four misfits, each with their own problems - Garrett "the Garbage Man" Garrison, Henry, Natalie and Dawn - have also ended up in the cube world.
