The Limburg-based Jos (Fedja van Huêt), a provincial criminal from a family of "born losers", is completely sidelined to his great frustration. His daughter no longer respects him, his wife distrusts him and his friends no longer take him seriously. When his somewhat boorish prospective son-in-law Özgür (Sezgin Güleç) offers a lucrative drug deal, Jos sees the opportunity to again "a very big player" to become. But even that goes wrong. Thus, Jos is forced to work with Özgür and his father Lei (Michiel Kerbosch) to take a wonderfully bizarre car ride through Limburg. On the way, searching for an answer to the question of how this can keep going wrong.
Over 8 years, screenwriter/director Michiel ten Horn - himself a Limburger - worked on this magically realistic crime comedy. A film full of imaginative characters and stories, taking the viewer along bizarre locations (frenziedly designed) filled with Limburg cultural heritage.
Selected as the opening film of IFFR 2025.
