French feel-good comedy centered around a brass band and two musical brothers

Director: Emanuelle Coucol - Actors: including Benjamin Lavernhe, Sarah Suco, Pierre Lottin
Length: 103 minutes - Language: French
- Subtitles: Dutch

NRC: "...the tragedy is palpable . Beautifully shows how music can transcend boundaries."

A fine French feel-good film that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The film shows how music connects people; people who have been able to develop differently simply because the environments they grew up in were unequal. Thanks to music, unlikely family ties transform into genuine friendships.

Thibaut(Benjamin Lavernhe) is a successful conductor, Jimmy(Pierre Lottin) plays in the local brass band. They are brothers, but don't know of each other's existence. Until Thibaut seeks a bone marrow donor. And finds it. Adoption has made their lives completely different. Their love of music brings them closer together. Thanks to the musical talent of both, it turns out the brothers have more in common than they thought.

En fanfare was a big cinema hit in France and Belgium. Among others, at the Film by the Sea festival in Vlissingen, the film won the audience award.

On SO March 15, 2:15 p.m., there will be a Café Français of the Dordt chapter of the Alliance Française afterward. It offers a great opportunity to meet other French lovers and practice your French conversation.
