Exactly 100 years after its original premiere on June 26, 1925, Charlie Chaplin's masterpiece The Gold Rush returns to theaters. The film has been restored in 4k and in the process, experts have made minor edits. These bring the film back as close as possible to its silent original. In fact, Chaplin himself remounted and shortened the film in 1942, when it had become possible to add sound to it.
A quiet and contented Little Tramp(Charlie Chaplin) sets out to seek his fortune in the hidden gold mines of Klondike. However, none of that peace soon remains when another equally starving prospector begins to mistake him for a giant chicken.
