The Biesbosch is a unique freshwater tidal area and national park, nearby. It is now home to a rich array of plants and animals. Over the centuries, the area has served humans in a variety of ways. It produced fuel (peat) and building materials (reeds and rushes). It was agricultural land and tourism destination. In recent decades, the natural area is increasingly taking over. But as water storage, it remains an important element to keep us safe and dry. Join us on a journey with former forester Jacques van der Neut.
If you want to hear the filmmakers talk about the realization of their nature film, listen here to a podcast. In an episode of The White Cloth, Don Zwaaneveld spoke with Bas Kakes and Jacques van der Neut.
