Synopsis
In Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Bridget is alone again. Four years ago, she was widowed after Mark died while on a humanitarian mission in Sudan. As a single mother of 9-year-old Billy and 4-year-old Mabel, with help from her loyal friends and sometimes even her ex Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), she finds herself in an emotional limbo. Under pressure from her "urban family"-Shazzer, Jude and Tom, her co-worker Miranda, her mother and her gynecologist Dr. Rawlings (Oscar®-winner Emma Thompson)-who encourages her to take a new path in life and love, Bridget goes back to work and even ventures onto dating apps, where she is soon wooed by an enchantingly enthusiastic young man (Leo Woodall from The White Lotus). As she tries to combine work, family and romance, Bridget struggles with the judgment of the perfect mothers at school and her worries about Billy, who struggles with his father's absence. And then she has some awkward interactions with her son's extremely rational physics teacher (the Oscar®-nominated Chiwetel Ejiofor).
