Cabaret and film come together in an evening about family ties and informal care
After the success of the documentaries ' My father the expat' and ' When mom left for Mars ' , production company Zouka returns to the theater with their long-awaited first feature film 'Porte Bagage '. This road movie is about the Idrissi family , who travel to Morocco . Their father is in the early stages of dementia and wants to return to his native country . Not everyone in the family supports the plan. Will the journey bring the family closer together or will they become even more alienated from each other ? Director Abdelkarim El-Fassi and producer Asma El-Fassi worked on this project for no less than six years , which was inspired by their personal experience as caregivers .
Before the film – which can be seen exclusively in the theater – comedian Nabil Aoulad Ayad talks in a compelling and humorous way about what family means to him , how that bond has shaped him and how it can sometimes be oppressive .
