Get ready for the groovy jazz of Fingerprint, the band led by two icons of the Dutch jazz world: trumpeter Jan van Duikeren and saxophonist Tom Beek.
Fingerprint brings a fresh mix of modern jazz, funk and improvisation, in which the pleasure of playing and the interaction between the musicians are central. With influences from such greats as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny, the formation manages to produce a unique sound that appeals to jazz connoisseurs and newcomers alike.
Van Duikeren, a two-time Edison Jazz winner, is praised for his lyrical playing and versatility. He has collaborated with artists such as Candy Dulfer, Direct, the Metropole Orchestra and just last year he and Marcel Veenendaal got a sold-out Muziekpodium DJS breathlessly on his lips.
Beek, a master on the tenor saxophone, is known for his melodic approach and expressive improvisations.
Lineup: Jan van Duikeren - trumpet, Tom Beek - saxophone, Salle de Jong - drums, Hugo den Oudsten - bass & Timothy Banchet - piano.
