Ode to the resilience of the African woman

'A plastic state of mind' is a ode to the power of the black woman, brought by a all-female cast. You follow a group of girls who during the Liberian civil war captured his captured by rebel leaders. Despite the horrific circumstances let these young women an unprecedented resilience see; they survive as form of protest. To the sounds of warm compositions and the rhythms of breathtaking percussion land you find yourself in a world in which national borders, nationality, ethnicity and language are transcended.

Playwright and director Gavin-Viano based himself on the Broadwayplay 'Eclipsed' by the American actress and playwright Danai Gurira, who in five categories nominated was for a Tony Award. The performance was in 2020 at see at the Amsterdam theater festival Town Tales. "The great standout of the closing night was Gavin-Viano. Razor-sharp let 'A plastic state of mind' shows how the women at different ways through their captivity are shaped" (NRC).
