Hot Day Today is a painting exhibition about COLOR, used differently by each artist. The way of painting, color combinations, and paint handling are very different, but sparkling. Corresponding is the abstract approach. The whole is an experience as on a hot summer day.
- Anne Marie Spijker. Works with thin flowing paint in bright colors and thin layers. Within the chosen form the paint seeks its own way. A fast concentrated way of working. Evokes memories of the landscape.
- Anuli Croon. Using clean basic shapes and patterns, the colors are kept in check, in considered combination with the use of black. Vases, Embracings and Tronies are all given a different expression in series of variations.
- Aquil Copier. Is the master of paint and its properties. Various paint treatments are part of his work. Lots of thick paint in ferocious gesture. Unbridled energy and splashy use of color. And yet order prevails.
- Sasja Hagens. A real painter who works with firm expressive brushstrokes on huge canvases. Very thick paint in almost fluorescent colors. Huge ships loom large. Great works.
- Inez Smit. Very considered and balancing, Inez builds her paintings in geometric areas of color that balance with white and gray tones.
They give calmness, and a serene balance that allows the very colors to sparkle.
