During Riley Walz's exhibition, the Art Church will open its doors for a creative walk-in studio. Visitors will work on the themes of nostalgia and film, focusing on memories, even those we may have long forgotten.
Take any two photos that are at least six months apart in terms of time. These can be images from your digital film roll on your phone or prints from an old photo book. These photos will form the starting and ending points of your personal "film roll" during the workshop.
Using a series of small drawings, we connect these moments and give form to what has happened between those two points in time. What happened in the interim? What memories, associations and feelings resurface? And what memories did not get a place in your film reel, but are still alive in your mind? How do you bring just those to life?
In this workshop we will build a timeline using storyboard techniques.Be surprised by your own memories, and give them a creative form!
