We cordially invite everyone to the Interfaith May 4 Remembrance and Reflection on Sunday, May 4, 2025. This year the commemoration will take place in the Kruiskerk, located at Vrieseweg 64, near Sumatra Square, where traditionally the national Remembrance of the Dead is held at 8 pm.
Guest Speakers
From several churches and a mosque, we have invited speakers to share their thoughts and insights around the theme: 80 Years of Freedom. Unfortunately Rabbi Peter Luijendijk cannot attend, but he would have loved to participate.
During the commemoration, speakers will discuss the struggles that were fought in Dordrecht and the courage and strength required to conquer and protect our freedom again and again. We will continue last year's theme, "We are all Dordrians." How do we look at 80 years of Freedom and how do we experience Freedom?
Even residents who may not often visit a church, synagogue or mosque are welcome to join us in commemorating this moment. We hope to welcome you to the Kruiskerk on May 4. The mayor, council members and members of political parties will also be present.
