On Saturday, April 12, you can participate in a special free excursion on the normally inaccessible Dordwijk estate with the theme: Spring is Coming.
This walk led by experienced IVN nature guides, offers a unique opportunity to explore this historic estate. Landgoed Dordwijk dates back to 1635 and offers a rich historical and natural landscape. The estate is known for its English landscape garden with beautiful trees including the impressive Sequoia or Giant Sequoia tree. The garden is a feast for the eyes with its winding paths that invite you to explore.
Excursion highlights:
- English Landscape Garden: Admire the grandeur of century-old trees and enjoy the serene beauty of the landscape
- Kitchen Garden: Explore the kitchen garden with a source of fresh fruits and vegetables
- Deer Camp: Observe the majestic deer living on the property
- Villas: Although the Villas on the estate are privately owned and cannot be viewed inside, you can admire the beautiful architecture from the outside
If you come by car you can park opposite the entrance. You drive via the Dubbelsteynlaan or Burgemeester Jaslaan into the Dordwijklaan. This is a bicycle path, but is not prohibited for local traffic. Almost at the end, you cross a small bridge on your right and there is the parking lot.
