During this time when you walk, do you also regularly find a bird feather, from a pigeon for example? Birds get ready for autumn and winter and replace their feathers to do so; they moult. Why do birds do this and how exactly does moulting work?
You'll probably find springs along the way, too, but if you already have one at home, take it with you, there's all kinds of things to read from it.
