Roos van Kroos takes you into the world of wild picking. You will be immersed in all that autumn has to offer; the season of wild nuts and seeds. But how do you recognize edible nuts and seeds? And how do you store them? You will dive into history, where whole tribes used the acorn as their staple food, but knowledge from the present is also used. Roos also talks a bit about the Wild Microbiome Project, for which she is already wild-picking as much as possible. After all, what does eating wild actually do to your health? During the lecture we will also make some delicious food together.
This lecture is organized from Biodivers Dordt, a collaboration between Biesboschcentrum, Weizigt, IVN, Groei & Bloei Dordrecht, Nivon Natuurvrienden, KNNV, and Stadslandbouwkas de Oude Beer to bring residents closer to nature and experience nature up close.
