Led by the young saxophonist, arranger and composer Cosimo Gentili, the big band JazzedUP has quickly developed into a unique ensemble with its own sound and a surprising line-up.
Since its inception in 2022, JazzedUP has positioned itself as an orchestra that is not limited to the classic big band setting. In addition to a solid saxophone section and a rhythm section, a trombone, two trumpets, flugelhorn and tuba provide a unique timbre. This innovative sound has already impressed, culminating in a dazzling performance in Volterra, Tuscany in August 2024, Gentili's birthplace, resulting in invitations to multiple concerts in the summer of 2025.
The repertoire consists of jazz classics by icons such as John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard and Roy Hargrove. What sets JazzedUP apart is the personal approach of Cosimo Gentili, who takes into account the individual qualities of the band members when writing his arrangements, making each performance a unique experience.
