Music venue DJS opens stage on King's Day with varied live program
On Saturday, April 26, Music venue DJS will celebrate King's Day with an afternoon of live music. Between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy performances by various bands and artists, including Nini, Brewer & Vineyards and The Humbled.
Nini (13:30:14:00)
Known for her impressive performances with acoustic guitar and unique voice, Nini has won many hearts on domestic and international stages. Inspired by artists like Prince, Sade, Tracy Chapman and Norah Jones, she brings a mix of her own work and surprising covers that make her performances a special experience.
Brewer & Vineyards (14:30-15:30)
Local jazz group Brewer & Vineyards is a musical collective centered around Dick Brouwer and Jeannette van Wijngaarden. After their successful third place at the Silver Talent Show in 2022, they decided to develop their talents further. Since May 2023, together with musicians from Dordrecht Wim Klein (drums), Harrie Mirck (bass) and Kees Elsman (harmonica), they form a full-fledged jazz formation.
The repertoire of Brewer & Vineyards consists of pieces from The American Real Book, supplemented with their own compositions. The experienced musicians guarantee a relaxed and atmospheric afternoon full of jazzy sounds.
The Humbled (16:00-17:00)
The melodic pop-rock band The Humbled, from Dordrecht, brings an alternative sound that is both danceable and compelling. With influences from Coldplay, The National, The Editors, Tori Amos and Keane, the band delivers catchy and energetic performances. In late 2023, The Humbled released their debut EP, recorded as a live band in the studio to capture the raw essence of their sound.
