Sunday, June 23 - LOKS - Four generations of sound
LOKS is a collaborative work by four composers for four quartets, performed at four festivals in four countries, as part of Festivallinks 2.0. From the uncertainty of planting the seed to the abundance of the harvest, the piece draws an arc, a circle ("loks" in Latvian) across the four performances, unfolding over the growing season. Played separately, each quartet is haunted by the three others. In Dordrecht, we hear the composition in the scoring of flute, oboe, bass clarinet and bassoon. Eventually they form one piece for an orchestra of 16 players.
Together with LUSTR, Silence Festival (FI), Classic Boat Festival (GER) and Festival Sansusi (LV), Bachfestival Dordrecht is a partner of Festivallinks 2.0. Together we aim to contribute to greater sustainability through artistic collaboration, audience research and development and capacity building....
