On January 24, Gezinsverbijstering, part 3 of Meindert Talma's autobiographical book and album series Nederlands Onbekendste Popster, will be released. Live, Meindert will bring the project to Dordrecht with his band.
On May 30, expect a set featuring the best songs from Part 1 Basement Fever and Part 2 You Think It's Coming as well as a set featuring Family Anger, which consists of an alternation of recitation and songs, plus lots of personal imagery. Meindert debuted nearly thirty years ago with the vinyl single 20 Years of Musical Fruit Basket. Familybijstering is Meindert's twentieth album and fifth autobiographical book-CD combination. Familybijstering covers the period from 2002 to 2008. Besides the strange and sometimes sad career ups and downs, the common thread is how Meindert's love adventures in the city of Groningen eventually lead to his first time living together and the birth of two daughters in the Groningen countryside. Meindert recorded Gezinsverbijstering with his band: Jan Pier Brands (guitar), Janke Brands, Herman Grimme (keys) and Johan Kooi (drums and producer). Pieternel Teekens took care of all the backing vocals.
