In the band: cousin John from rock 'n roll band The Savage on guitar and cousin Sander who has been on stage for decades on bass. Drummer Jules, former member of The Hummingbirds, is not officially a relative and is therefore christened behind, behind, behind cousin. He signed on with Jack Poels for the recording, mixing and production. "That one has to be distinct.

We go back to the hard rock of the 1970s and 1980s. Because that's where the cousins get the mustard. A touch of Thin Lizzy, a pinch of ZZ Top and a dash of Creedence Clearwater, topped off with a big dollop of Grandaddy HOPPATA right into the blender.
Twelve new songs, in Uncle Jack's handwriting. With beautiful Limburg lyrics, so laced with humor, melancholy and a keen eye for the seemingly mundane in which so much shines.
In June 2024 the album Totempoal will be released and from February of the same year the Cousins Project will tour all over the country. Back to the band feeling of the past: from the rehearsal room straight onto the stage. Plug in and go: the entire album and some fine covers.

Nienke is een 19-jarige singer-songwriter uit een klein plaatsje in het zuidwesten van Nederland. Uitgerust met een krachtige en doorleefde zangstem met karakter en een groot muzikaal talent, weet ze haar publiek ondanks haar jonge leeftijd te raken. Niet alleen met haar liefde voor blues, americana, country, jazz en soul maar ook met haar vermogen om vanuit haar hart te zingen.
Her love for the blues began when she was only 12 years old, simply by playing music every Saturday morning with two family friends. Through vocal lessons from mentor/teacher Caspar de Jonge and regular visits to concerts (Beth Hart, Tedeschi Trucks Band, North Sea Jazz and other known and unknown artists) she continued to develop. Already at a young age she climbed the stage of the monthly jam session in Gebouw T (Bergen op Zoom), a great opportunity to make live music with experienced musicians.
Writing her own songs began when she was able to accompany herself, first on piano and later on guitar. Her lyrics are often poetic and tell a story.
