Once again this year, Friends of Nature House and nature campsite De Kleine Rug will hold an open day with a sustainability market, as part of the Weekend of Nature on the Island of Dordrecht. With information, products and activities for children from, among others, Stadslandbouwkas De Oude Beer, de Bomenridders, IVN, Groei & Bloei, Voedselbos Buitenzinnig and Velt. The whole event will be graced with live music. There will also be guided tours of the house and guided nature walks on the island. Learn more about the flora and fauna in the willow forest and the history of this special place.
Children can also attend a birdhouse-making workshop under the supervision of an adult (father, mother, grandfather or grandmother or someone else). These are necessary because there are many birds on the island and they all need a place to nest. Afterwards you can take the bird house home to hang it in the garden or on the balcony.
