Eefje de Visser is back.
De Visser has built a rock-solid live reputation as a singer, musician and performer. Compelling and alienating, hopeful and nostalgic, she brings layered alternative pop and creates a warm visual world in which the viewer can forget about time and escape reality elated or subdued. Her fifth album "Homesick" was released on Sept. 13 and is receiving rave reviews by domestic and foreign music press. On April 4, Eefje will play an acoustic show at the Grote Kerk in Dordecht.
EAR:
In Amare, after more than an hour and a half, she leaves the stage as perhaps the best Dutch-language all-round pop artist we've ever had.
3VOOR12: Bitterzoet is one of the best Dutch albums ever made. We already knew that. Now we can conclude that the accompanying show is also a groundbreaking, dazzlingly beautifully directed show that has no equal.
Bittersweet
marked Eefje de Visser's definitive breakthrough in 2020. The album was voted Best Record of 2020 by 60 music critics for OOR's Final List.
Never before has a homegrown record finished No. 1 on this list, which has been published since 1973. Bitterzoet won two Edisons, a 3FM and a BUMA Award in the Alternative category, the 3voor12 Award for Best Record, 3FM's Scale of Rigter and the 2020 Golden Nutcracker. During the recordings for Bitterzoet Live in Carré, Eefje received a gold record for Bitterzoet. She played forty sold-out shows in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. By NRC Handelsblad and VPRO, Eefje was voted Best Act at Noorderslag 2020 and by 3voor12 as Best Act at Pinkpop 2022. She ranked number two in Pinkpop's Top Fifty Best Acts of The Festival Season.
