Rootsriders feat Mo Ali pay tribute to Bob Marley's 1975 live album featuring the iconic version of No Woman No Cry. In 2004, the authoritative American magazine Rolling Stone
ranked the song at 37 in their ranking of the 500 best songs of all time. Thanks in part to the success of No Woman No Cry, more than 1 million copies of the album
were sold worldwide (of which 100,000 in the NL alone), unprecedented numbers for a reggae band at the time. In addition, this tour Rootsriders dive into their personal favorite Marley songs.
Rootsriders were once formed to commemorate Bob Marley's 25th death anniversary, and over the years the band has become a fixture on the Dutch live circuit. Vocalists Giovanca Ostiana
and Shirma Rouse, as well as former The Voice runner-up Mitchell Brunings, whose blind audition of - of course - a song by Marley went viral worldwide, are well-known former members. Current singer Mo Ali was found, as
goes via social media these days, in Sudan. The band made it to the finals of the SBS6 program "The Tribute, Battle of the Bands" in 2022. As a reward, the band stood in a sold-out Ziggo Dome that year, together with the 3 other finalists of the
program.
