Honey bees, wild bees and other pollinators (such as bumblebees and hoverflies) are indispensable to plants, animals and people. Will you come take a look at the apiary this summer? You'll learn all about the fascinating life of bees and get tips on how to help pollinators.
On April 23, the Apiary will be open for the first time in 2025. There will then be several (free) activities for children ages 4 and up, including:
- Spotting wild bees in the bee hotel: with a search card you can discover which wild bees they are. And do wild bees also make honey?
- Flowers and pollinators belong together: plants need bees and many other insects. Why, really? How does a bee know where there are flowers?
- Listen to the story of the honeybee: Weizigt's beekeeper shows the life of the honeybee. Come to the Apiary and see the honeybees up close.
