On the initiative of experienced pianist-composer Henri Noorlander and percussionist Paul Scheepmaker, Muziekpodium DJS breathes new life into the jazz scene every first Sunday of the month with a jazz improvisation session for instrumentalists, singers and vocalists.
A regular rhythm section warms up with a first set, then participants make music together in the second set. At each Sesjun Sunday, there is a list of 10 songs from which participants can choose. They play without rehearsing and without set arrangements. Exciting for the participating musicians, but above all an invitation to listen to each other, to improvise and to really play together.
For the audience, the perfect opportunity to enjoy jazz improvisation at the cutting edge from the comfort of your armchair with a nice drink!
