Steven Troch has been on the music scene since 1994 and is by no means a newcomer. Over the past 30 years he has fronted a whole range of bands and accompanied artists such as Tiny Legs Tim, Gene Taylor, Ina Forsman, Lon Eldridge, Little Victor, Big Creek Slim, Gerald Clark, Roland Van Campenhout, Guy Verlinde, and many others.
This Belgian is among the best harmonica players in the Low Countries. In his band, Steven is surrounded by three top musicians: Matti De Rijcke on guitar, Liesbeth Sprangers on bass and Dennis de Gier on drums. The band's starting point is Rhythm & Blues, but they then put a very original spin on it.
The Steven Troch Band's fourth album, "The Dawning," presents a multitude of influences, including blues, country, swing and R&B, all woven into their own distinctive style. The album showcases the band's evolution while staying true to their sound. They explore new sonic landscapes, which adds depth to the songs, with storytelling often taking center stage. The strong chemistry between the musicians is palpable, and their ability to blend genres is nothing short of remarkable.
It remains a challenge to place the Steven Troch Band in a specific genre, although all of their influences fall under the broad umbrella of American roots music.
