Tip Jar pushes the boundaries of country music and the singer-songwriter genre, with music that cannot really be categorized but, according to music magazine Oor, "effortlessly rivals that of great Americana artists from around the world. Tip Jar is the international collective of musical friends around Bart de Win (who you may know as the accompanist of Gerard van Maasakkers, Iain Matthews or Birds of Chicago, among others) and Arianne Knegt. The voices of Bart, Arianne and Harry Hendriks together form the characteristic Tip Jar sound, which is recognizable from thousands. Honest songs about big and small everyday things that everyone will recognize.
Tip Jar's infectious Americana and love of American roots music has already brought them to legendary venues such as Gruene Hall and Luckenbach and earned them a spot in the lineup of several festivals in Texas. Tip Jar also toured England. Domestically, the band operates mainly on the Americana circuit, but they also do well in more intimate theaters and music venues with their listening songs and accompanying anecdotes.
