"The fiercest desert rock ever ... Tamikrest's music blazes with a righteous intensity that is almost terrifying."
Tamikrest means crossroads or connection. Since the 5 group members come from different parts of the world, it is an ideal word to describe the band. Their music is a tribute to Tuareg identity, spiced with modern rock influences. The lyrics are about the eternal longing for a free world. Through their songs, Tamikrest aims to make Tamasheq poetry and culture accessible to residents of a world larger than the immensity of the Sahara.
"A desert harbors us, a language unites us, a culture binds us."
