The Flying Luttenbachers (USA)
The Luttenbachers' latest trio formation is a tight, intense, wild machine that performs complex compositions with raw energy and a powerful stage presence.
Their music is hyper-composed BRUTAL PROG - not your grandfather's "prog rock," but an intricate, detailed assault fueled by punk, no wave, free jazz and extreme metal.
As heard on the recent live-in-studio, no-nonsense EP Spectral Warrior Mythos 2, this band is on fire.
Formed in Chicago in 1991, moved to California in 2003, disbanded in 2007, reconstituted in New York in 2017 and returned to Chicago in 2022.
The Flying Luttenbachers recently performed as support act during 8 shows of Japanese noisemakers Melt-Banana's May/June 2024 tour.
Combo Qazam
Combo Qazam is a post-punk band from Utrecht that leans heavily on grooves and eerie vocal harmonies. On their well-received debut Flight Music (2020), they pair this with 90s indie, math rock, prog and krautrock. Rhythmic and mechanical, yet nostalgic like a warm glow. On their second album Ghost Interior (2022), the band explores the suffering of being human. For fans of Wire, Battles, Beak>, Tortoise, Pinback, Unwound, Can and Devo.
Polarized
A loud and guitar-driven trio.
Albatre
Albatre is an experimental music trio from Rotterdam. Their music is a frenzied but compelling interplay of urgent bass and saxophone sounds, distorted jazz elements, frantic but meticulous drums and sudden mood swings. Albatre is part of an emerging microscene of artists highlighting the crossover of improvisation, noise rock and jazz in the Netherlands.
